North Kent Caribbean Network

The NKCN are a community led group who have been based in North Kent for decades. Consisting of members who arrived in the UK on the SSE Windrush in the 1940’s as well as the generations that followed them, the group run regular weekly meetings where elders and youngsters alike can socialise.

NKCN curate their own exhibitions and events around the themes of Windrush, cultural heritage and anti-racism. They have also created films capturing the many stories of the elders who arrived in the UK in those early days as well as participating in documentaries that have broadcasted nationally.
