North Kent Caribbean Network
NKCN is a voluntary, community-led group established in 2015 that works in partnership with Kent based organisations to support the Caribbean community in Kent and celebrate our diverse communities through education and the arts
Projects include health, wellbeing and professional training, in addition to hosting weekly lunches where elders and youngsters alike can socialise. NKCN also curate their own exhibitions and events around the themes of Windrush, Black History and inclusive community practice.
They have created films and podcasts capturing the stories of the Windrush Generation elders who arrived in the UK between 1948 and 1971 and have featured in nationally broadcast television and radio features. Further information about the group can be found via their website www.nkcn.co.uk or their Facebook and Instagram pages.
